Florida’s Solar Rebate Program Receives Funding *Updated*

This is great news for people interested in installing solar, as well as the people who were on last years waiting list for rebate checks. In case you don’t know the State gives a rebate of $4.00 a watt (more than half the cost of the system). The popularity of the program is such that the $5,000,000 allocated for 08-09 ran out creating a back log of $5,300,000.

The fund will be replenished with $9,400,000, leaving $4,100,000 for new systems. If you were on the fence get the project going soon. Here is the link.

Update
It appears there is an additional $5,000,000 allocated from the Solar Energy Program (also coming from the Federal stimulus) so there will actually be $9,100,000 available for 09/10.
